strange thoughts almost always start pouring in at night. tonight is just plain weird! One moment I'm very very very sure of what I'm doing and what I'm going to do and the next moment I feel like I have no clue.

I am a person of plans. I function best when I have a task list or plans and I always have plan A, B, C and all the way to Z. seriously, I'm not joking.

but this time it's different. I have one plan.. One plan that I'm very sure will work because if it didn't I'll have nothing else to do. and it's literally freaking me out :)

but I have faith. It will work. It will.

and when it does, I will be the happiest person alive :) because just thinking about it make me smile and brightens my whole day.

the only thing I remember before the invasion was a very vague memory of my toothless carrot head friend.

for me, my life started with the invasion.

Day1: my aunt and cousin came to our house, I can still remember her words clearly.

I remember burning garbage, going door to door to gather their support for cleaning streets.

I remember watching the news and throwing up every day at the sight of the anchor man.

I remember my dad, being sick and sleeping all day. turned out it was epilepsy episodes.

I remember my mom and how brave she was, writing reports and saving all the medical equipments from being destroyed.

I remember the beds in the living room. the white dining table with lots of food supplies.

I remember showers and how we used to heat water.

I remember the sight of guns stashed up in the house. I remember how safe guns made me... weird ha?

I remember my cousins.. I remember praying that I would be as strong as popeye to kill saddam and save my country.

I remember a soldier knocking on the door, I remember openning it alone. he opened his hand and offered me two candies if I would tell him where my uncle is.. and I remember not telling anyone about it, but dreaming everyday of taking his gun and killing him.

now tell me, how would we go back to being just children afterwards.

I remember sleeping when the Iraqi soldiers came to our house. I still remember the sound of drawers being pulled.

I remember changing places twice. I remember the bright lights at night... looking up and thinkig they were fireworks.

I remember drawing lots and lots of dead soldiers, tightly wrapped with ropes.. drenched in blood and burned.. and people think we weren't affected by this invasion.

I remember fear. I remember death

and I was only 4.

my life started here.

I Love trying things out. I have a new hobby every couple of months. its cheese making this month. kind of made me think ... how on earth does my mind work?

I spent hours and hours researching about cheese making and I got really excited to the point that my kitchen is now filled with experiments.

its not a hobby, its an obsession.

my family is out of town :), the whole house is one big experiment for me!

anyways,

while waiting for my cheese to set, I came across this video...

on another note,

I think a tsetse fly got a hold of me. been sleeping all day for the past 20 days or so. I just go to work, go back home and sleep, atfa6ar, go back to sleep, wake up to eat so7oor and go back to sleep.

there have been couple of incidents where I almost slept in meetings as well

I think I'm recovering after so many years of being a hopeless insomniac, but I'm missing alot of action :)

That's how random I am these day. I reached a point where someone from work got convinced that I'm popping pills! lol

it's not that I can't be coherent. I just prefer to be random and speak freely and say anything that comes in my mind at certain times and when I'm around people I know.

but in meetings and other places that needs being coherent and "well put", I will be.

I think I'm back... :)

from the list I wanted to do, I did everything I wanted and even more but I still have the gym issue. I'm starting tomorrow :) and the ceramic cow... I'm going to search all day tomorrow untill I find one.

it's the first time I evert travel alone. It's much much much more different that being attached to someone. I left mom at the airport, and I have never, ever felt so alone in my life :( ... it took me a whooping 10 seconds to move on and suck it up :P... that's how I am, and it scares me sometimes how fast I can recover and move on! any how... if you know me, you would know that this year, I looked as if someone sucked the life out of me.. a true zombie! I'm back to life again, had everything in order and back on track.. everyone noticed the difference :) I'm alive again!

I got plans again :), Plan A, Plan B and Plan C... as usual :) and I started mapping out stuff and laying out action plans.. it's so cool... damn I must be a control freak! plans make me happy and having multiple goals is like heaven to me!

A one month vacation starting from next week (fingers crossed)
A small chubby ceramic cow for my desk at work
A quiet travel destination. Weather must be cool
A good mulch for my avocado plant
to sleep for 14 hours straight
go for a swim in the sea
have time for friends and myself
have a gallery of all the existing stuff I got
go back to the gym! its been 2 months
furnish my rooms :P it's been alot more than a year since I moved and I still have a cabinet and a bed. bassss... and I'm not letting anyone jump in and furnish or decorate since I want to do it myself. atleast I got a sofa! taqaddum :P (office+bedroom)

now I would just settle with a vacation.

I think people have a distorted image of the identity/lifestyle of bloggers and all social network users.

not all of them are geeks with zero social skills... there are actually people who are just fine. not all of them are substituting thier lack of social life !

not all of them hide behind there computers to run away form life.. you can find successful people who happen to love documenting andd writing.

the whole point of social networks is engaging more with the world. instead of having let's say a normal press release that you can read in newspaper. you can now go online, read the same information, uncandid, with a personal twist and you can actually see other people's views, interact with them, be part of the news instead of just observing.

we are no longer news recievers... we are the ones who are conducting news.

we are no longer passive... we have a say.

having said that,

I believe in all of what I said above. but there is something that is really confusing me.

in our region, anonymity is worshipped so much and I dont get it. dont we have the freedom to express ourselves?

what are we affraid of ?

in kuwait, some people go to the extent of having a double life.

if we are being clear and honest in everything we write, why are we affraid of being exposed?

personally,

when I first started here, I used to use my real name when I introduce myself to bloggers away from the blog, (emails, msn... etc). and I made really good friends that I still appreciate :)

I didn't really emphasize on being completely anonymous but at the same time I liked having the choice of being anonymous and not being anonymous.

exposing my identity has to be under my own terms.

now that the social network base is expanding, I no longer have this choice.

it's not like I'm active here! bas ham, I liked having the choice once

other than that, I am now more exposed to people and media than before, having it even harder to have the choice of anonymity.

the whole being exposed and not being exposed, should I shouldn't I, is just not worth it.

now after 5 years of blogging,

I began to lose interest in the whole game. it just started to bloom and I want to leave.

I don't like the hassle! am I exposed, am I not

do I write about that, do I not ?

and I'm not even convinced that I should keep my identity anonymous. if you're not doing anything wrong. why would you keep your identity a secret ?

do I obide by the rules of society for once in my life and pretent that I'm anonymous, othe bloggers are anonymous, and we all live in a happy anonymous world ? or do I just start all over again, with my real identity where I can talk even more freely?

in the past 5 years, the only thing I regret was showing a blogger that I know thier real identity without really having the intention to do so. I really didn't mean it. I usually keep my own findings to myself. I never share since its not my business to share. now the same thing is happening to me. the only difference is that, they mean it.

some people have good intentions

some people have bad intentions

some, just love gossip... no intention at all!

to recap, social networks are expanding. I'm the type of person that needs a strategy to cope with change comming ahead and now being exposed to media and more people, I need to know how to cope with no longer having a choice to be anonymous while sharing my life and work!

I don't mind it really, but I know that there will come time where I want to write about something and I dont want the post to end up with my name.

it's more of a privacy issue rather than choice alone.

2 months ago, I baught so many books from my short trip to Dubai. all of them turned out to be great and useful. One of them was Strength Based Leadership.

The book is amazing. It teaches you to focus on your points of strengths and develop them rather than be all over the place and trying to be good at everything.

you get to take a test first which will identify the 5 main points of strengths. then you can read in detail what it means, how to utilize them when you're in a leading position, how to manage people with each strength type.

It was an interesting read. after taking the test and reading the desctription of each point, things started to make sense. learned alot about myself :)

I'm entering a new phase in my life. It's a phase filled with learnings... I'm learning new things everyday, that is why I started working on the book of learnings... everyday before I sleep I write what I've learned that day. It's amazing how little things can teach you ALOT.

sometimes at work you face people who have all the right traits,

they're hardworking, smart, sweet, innovative, very helpful but at the same time they may have one trait that would make you think twice before taking any action towards them, be it a promotion, an upgrade and any action that would be considered as a career advancement.

those bad traits, no matter how little they are... would affect other people's judgements towards yourself.

you may snap fast

you may be moody

you may be too sensitive

you may be stubborn

you may not listen to advices..

and you may be all of the above..

so, when you realize that you have a bad trait that is affecting others' judgements, what would you do to correct your image?

In this situation you will definitely need Image correction measures. what would they be ?

the way I see it, we have 3 things to take into consideration

1- work issues

2- social perspective

3- attitude

at work, don't complain, try to finish all untied ends, be innovative, propose solutions, be more proactive.

socially, try to have a good relationship with everyone and ammend the relationships of those whom you have treated differently.

attitude : it's all about the attitude, work on your poker face, dont show that you are mad or hurt or sensitive. and take everything positively.

the best advice I was given : even if you think the race is over, do whatever you can do to finish the race with the best speed and attitude.

How can you decide if it's time to move on.

be it love, life, work, dreams...

when is it time to move on ?

I have 3 things that I always take in consideration:

Am I growing with it, am I learning new things.
Am I comfortable, is it a good thing to surround myself with.
Is it benificial to me, am I gaining something in return.

but sometimes, you cannot always measure everything, if what I mentioned above should be my guide, then I shouldn't have done half of the things I've done in the past 2 years.

the other part of the equation is intuition, sometimes everything is right but you feel it's not.

I can't always follow those rules, lets say that I wanted to eat a cheeseburger.

am I growing with it : definitely, couple of inches and a belly !

am I comfortable : ofcourse I am, it's fat and carb.. who wouldn't be comfortable

am I gaining something in return : couple of kilos and outbreaks..

so... what i'm trying to say is :

I have the wrong equation to measure things... most of the things I did made sense and still makes sense although most of them sound so weird.

so, how would you make a decision ? when would you move on and forget about love, work, dreams and your previous life?

it's like, I suddenly realized that I really did achieve something i'm proud of at a young age. I'm loving it. I really am proud of myself, now I can retire ;) heheh.. naah I think it's too early, I still have more to give, more to accomplish in life.

it doesn't have to be now, but I know that what I'm doing next would be alot better than what I did before.

living a guilt free life is the best feeling ever. knowing that you did the best you could and you were so damn good at it.

Made Chocolate souffle` today :D

its the first time I ever try baking them. the whole process of picking the right chocolate and folding the ingredients gently and looking at them while they are puffing and rising is just satisfying.

Ingredients :

200 grams dark eating chocolate

50 grams butter

3 egg yolks

7 egg whites

2 tbs sugar

take small cups and mes7ohum in butter.

the oven should be preheated to 200 degree with a fan.

1- melt chocolate and butter together over a hot pot filled with boiling water.

2- remove it after it all melts, and add egg yolks to the mixture quickly before its cooked with heat.

3- in a mixure, beat the egg whites untill it becomes fluffy. add the sugar (add extra sugar if you like it sweet, that's what I did)

4- take 1/3 of the egg white and fold it in the chocolate mixture

5- fold in the rest of the egg white, don't over mix it, getly fold it leaving in all the bubbles.

pour it gently in the cups, be careful while handling it, don't drop the cup on the table, we need to trap the bubbles in.

then :) .. put it in and watch it while it rises,

it will take less than 10 minutes to rise. once it rises, wait for a minutes and remove it slowly. if you remove it quikly it will not stay up.

color of the day : bloody pink.

my room is now bright pink and brown... feels like living in chocolate bar ;). any suggestions ? I have a wall that's is dark brown with a hint of olive and I'm not gonna change it.

I never really realized how beautiful business strategy can be untill I got a job.
